  • I want to work together. How do we get started?
    Simply answer a few quick questions and schedule a "get acquainted" call. After our conversation, we’ll set up a time for a basic assessment to get your dog ready for walking, then you'll receive your schedule and we’re all set to go! For off-leash outings, we'll also schedule a thorough evaluation to assess your dog’s socialization with other dogs and their obedience skills, including recall, sit, stay and leave it. We’ll make sure they’re fully prepared for their adventure!
  • What types of pets do you take care of?
    We care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, reptiles, goats and horses. If our pet isn’t listed here, please contact us.
  • Will I always have the same dog walker or pet sitter?
    To ensure uninterrupted service, we may schedule additional sitters if a team member needs a day off, falls ill or encounters an unexpected situation. Rest assured, you’ll usually have the same dog walker or off-leash wrangler to maintain consistency and familiarity for your pet.
  • What benefits can I expect from dog walks or off-leash outings?
    After each walk or outing, your dog will be thoroughly exercised and happily tired. Their socialization and manners will likely improve, leaving you with an even happier, more well-rounded pup than before.
  • How do I know when the walker/sitter is coming?
    You can view your schedule in the Time To Pet portal, which is updated every Thursday for the upcoming week. To stay informed of any changes, we recommend checking the schedule daily for the latest updates.
  • How do you access my home?
    Your home’s security is our top priority. We prefer to have two coded keys for secure access — one is kept in our key safe, while the other is in use. We use our own lockboxes and do not share the access code with clients for added security. While we can accommodate garage pad or keyless entry options, we prefer physical keys as a reliable backup in the event of a power or battery outage.
  • Will weather affect service?
    We’re committed to providing service rain or shine. For dog walks and off-leash outings, please leave a towel out so we can dry your pup off when we return. In over 20 years of service, only once has air quality from nearby fires prevented us from going out!
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    For daily service (dog walks or off-leash outings), we ask for three business days’ (Monday to Friday) notice for a 100% credit. Fewer than three days’ notice will result in no credit. For pet sitting, we require seven business days’ (Monday to Friday) notice. Please call or email with your cancellations. These policies help us ensure our staff’s time is respected and supports their income. Thank you for understanding!
  • When is payment due and how do I pay you?
    For ongoing monthly services (dog walks and off-leash outings), payment is due by the first date of service. For pet sitting, payment is due five business days prior to the first date of service. Accepted forms of payment are check, cash, your banking bill pay and Zelle.
  • Are you bonded and insured?
    Yes, East Bay Pet Care is bonded and insured, and all staff are background-checked. We take the responsibility of caring for your pet and your home seriously and with deep respect. Your trust means the world to us, and we're dedicated to earning and keeping your confidence in both our team and the services we provide.
